I’m really having fun decorating the mantel that we put up a few months ago. You can see how we hung the mantel HERE.
Today, I want to share how we decorated an Easter Mantel. It turned out so cute!
I’m going to warn you though, there will be a LOT of pictures!!
When decorating, I usually add a big item in the middle of the mantel and work my way out.
To get the rustic look I was going for, I made chalkboard sign out of reclaimed wood. I’ll give a tutorial on the sign in the next post. Hint: It’s two-sided!
After the sign was done, I worked outward.
I picked up some old books, a small olive basket, another small Easter sign and some fabric carrots at a local flea market and arranged them on either side of the sign.
We also picked up some Easter decor at Hobby Lobby. They were having a 40% off all Easter decor sale so I thought I would take advantage!
One of the bunnies on the shelf was found at a flea market but I picked up the mate at Hobby Lobby. We also picked up some eggs to scatter around the Easter mantel.
I used my beautiful Ironstone pitcher on one side and my vintage oil can for the other side. Both were used as vases and decorated with flowers.
The banner from Christmas was used to hang across the Easter mantel.
I thought the actual fireplace could use some decoration as well so I added some things to spruce it up.
A vintage napkin from a flea market was used to go underneath our tobacco basket that we picked up at hobby lobby.
The nest was built from Rafitta. I formed it in the bottom of a bowl, sprayed water on it, and left it overnight to keep the shape.
Some more eggs were placed in the nest and all around with a fabric carrot.
I also made some distressed vases from clear ones that were lying around the house. Carson is good to me every Valentine’s Day with flowers so we have a lot of vases! 😊
You can see the Facebook Live on how we made those. The one thing that I forgot to mention in the video is that I covered them in wax after they were distressed so the paint won’t chip off.

This is the wax that I used
Then, I added some more rabbits that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I love these little wooden creatures and they added to my Easter mantel perfectly!
I hope you have a wonderful Easter with family and friends. Thanks so much for visiting!
