It can be a challenge to have some fun activities for the grandkids when they come visit so when I was chosen to participate in the Kids Night in Box subscription review, I was so excited!
I have heard that the Kids Night in Box subscriptions were so much fun for the kids and adults with several different activities in each box. People were not wrong.
Kids Night in Box Review
When we received the Kids Night in Box in the mail, I saw that the theme was Mission Space this month. I was happy because I had just bought our grandson some sweats that had the stars and moon on them and he has been obsessed with space since then. This was perfect!
We received this box for free in exchange for an honest review but, of course, all opinions are my own.
Before I tell you about our experience, I want to mention all of the treasures that were inside this little box.
Sounds like so much fun, right?!! When we received the Kid’s Night in box in the mail, it was actually pretty small. I thought that maybe I received a condensed version but I was wrong. Everything was there in that little, amazing box!
I couldn’t wait to share it with my little grandson. Our granddaughter is still pretty young so she wouldn’t enjoy it as much.
We had to wait a few days for the grandkids to come over but I couldn’t help opening the box and looking at all the goodies.
When our grandson was finally able to come over, we had the whole night to ourself to enjoy the fun creations in the box. But, because he IS a 3 year old, he was not happy with me in the beginning. I tried to get him to color with me but he wouldn’t have any of it!! I had forgotten that you need to wait for the 3 year old to decide that they want to do something before they’ll actually do it. Silly me!!
So after what seemed like forever, he finally ventured over to the area where everything was laid out.
He had such a good time coloring, taping, experimenting and doing as much as he could stand for the night that he was with us.
Because he’s still very young, we weren’t able to do everything in the box but we did most of it. I have to admit that after he left, I finished up some projects!! They really were a lot of fun.
The first thing that my grandson went for was the balloon. He loves balloons and couldn’t wait to play with it.
Next, he wanted to try the Astronaut Ice cream.

Then we went outside to launch the rocket with the balloon because it was starting to get dark and I definitely wanted to do that fun project before he had to leave.

The box had some string in it so we attached one end to a post on our trampoline, then slid a straw through the string before we attached the other end to another post.

He tried to blow up the balloon by himself but he needed Amma’s help with that.

We taped the blown up balloon to the straw and let it fly!! It was so much fun and everything was included in the box, even the tape!
Next, we decided that we were getting hungry so we tried one of the recipes from the links given to us in the book.
We made Hot Rockets first from hot dogs and crescent rolls, then we had Galaxy Strawberries for dessert.

The hot rockets were a huge hit. He didn’t care for the galaxy strawberries but he liked helping me stir the pretty colors.

By this time, it was getting pretty dark. We decided to head outside with our telescope. He decorated it with stickers that were provided in the box but he wanted to remove them before going outside. Who knows why but he was cooperating with me at this point so I went with it!!

We had a great time looking at all the stars and the moon with our telescope but it was almost bedtime so we ventured back inside.
The last thing that we did was to read the book that came in the box. It was a great book about astronauts and what they eat and how they train.

Halfway through the book, little man fell asleep and our adventure was over! The book was pretty interesting so I finished reading it while he slept.

Honestly, this box was absolutely amazing!! We had fun doing everything that we could in that short time. He had also enjoyed playing with the rest of the projects when it was time for him to come back.
I can’t wait to see what next month’s Kids Night in Box has in store for us.
